Older Equipment Repairs
Although not mainstream, I do take on equipment repair jobs, such as of old HiFi gear.
Recently I've repaired an old Fender guitar amplifer, a high end Cambridge HiFi amp and am just completing a repair of an old Akai amplifer.
Although more modern equipment can sometimes be repaired, such as when computer motherboard capacitors leak, many items of kit are designed for replacement, with anonymous parts and no circuit diagram available, then their repair is rarely cost effective.
Generally I work on a charge only if fixed basis, apart from compensation for any out of pocket expenses.
