ZB Proxy — Reliable Live Stream to Alexa
An implementation of a bespoke Alexa skill to provide reliable access to Newstalk ZB (Wellington) via Alexa, which has otherwise proved to be problematic.
A FastAPI service that retrieves the Newstalk ZB HLS audio stream and rebroadcasts it as MP3 to multiple clients, including browsers, phones, and Alexa. It includes DNS-over-HTTPS resolution, frame-aligned audio buffering, automatic reconnection, and an Alexa Custom Skill webhook.
